English guy who moved out to WA in 2016.

Until now have been very loyal to my Golf TDI. I spend a lot of time out in WAs Wheatbelt and often find myself off of the main road.

Fair to say I've bogged that car more than I'd like so what better a time than to upgrade to a Touareg. Picked up an 2009 3.0 TDI. Absolutely love it.

Currently preparing to do all the fluids.

Drives true and I'm just back from my first 600km round trip.

Issues noted so far:

1) Drivers side boot hinge rubs against the roof when fully open. Investigating. Has caused paint to chip there.

2) Replaced key fob battery with an Energizer CR2032 but got a key battery warning light still. Will look at the super lithium version. Range on the lock / unlock isnt great.

3) A constant 14 on the volt meter but on starting its largely perfect, periodically it seems to struggle to crank. Hasn't failed to start, however.

Cheers all

Thanks!

I metal detect there all the time. Not for gold though...coins and relics 👍🏻

Recently there's a lot of farm permissions and old townsites off the beaten track.

Thanks i saw that, too. Will have a gander there, also. 😃

How old is the battery ? It may be starting to fail and not be putting out the cranking amps needed despite being fully charged.
On my 2013 7P Fob I used the standard Duracell CR2032 and works fine and the warning went away. Maybe on your model it needs to be reset.
