Hello everyone

Firstly, sincere apologies if this is a bit of an 'eye-roller' recurring topic, I have seen this brought up before under 'Andriod auto' dated 2018.

That said....

Regarding my 2016 R-Line:

Can anyone recommend either a (preferably DIY) after-market replacement or upgrade for the RNS850?

The system is so clunky, clumsy and slow, compared to wedging my phone under the lid of the cubby space on top of the dash, it's practically unusable.
I just basically want to use my phones functionality without the dashboard balancing act.

Many thanks
Scott

I believe that some of the RNS850 system functionality is lost when using aftermarket devices.

Brodit do a dash-mount for the T4 Touareg (probably others too) which allows phone, smartphone or tablet to be mounted - any number of suppliers do vent-mounted holders for phones and smartphones.

Thanks for the quick response.... I guess that is the risk with replacing the head unit. Maybe not worth the fuss, ultimately!
