After a great recommendation on here I’ve been running a set of Goodyear Eagle F1s, and had over twice the mileage of the previous factory fitted continentals.

They are approaching 3mm which is the time/depth in which I change tyres.

2 years on are there any different recommendations before I replace like for like?

Certainly none that I'm aware of. Such a good tyre all round it's hard to imagine anything beating them.

Surprised by that, are they definitely original? Have you owned from new?

No, but I know the previous owner and they are the original tyres. To be fair my boy racer days are behind me I don't accelerate, brake or corner hard, that probably helps.

I swapped front/rear at 30k miles to even out the wear.

Surprised because I also consider myself a steady driver but only managed about 25k miles from the original Scorpions.
You would still do better with F1's and should achieve even better milage!
They give a better ride imo and a little quieter too.

Will compare prices but, last time I looked, the Eagles were more expensive.

Takes me 5yrs to do 40k so will I still have the Treg then? So many factors lol

Wouldn’t go past the Goodyear Eagle F1 SUV for the Touareg - a great tyre and you get what you pay for.

If you aren’t looking to keep the car, it makes sense to shop around but don’t go budget as it might put private buyers off - shouldn’t affect a trade in value though

Local garage has quoted me £166 a corner for Pirelli Scorpion, £185 a corner for Eagle F1, both prices cheaper than Blackcircles.

I assumed online would be cheaper, I was wrong!

Going to stick with the Pirelli, happy with the wear rate on the current set.
