Folks,

Picked up the new car on Thursday, used approved... and an awful experience, but I'll write about that another time.

If i have the following option fitted :

[PHA] Parking heater with 100ltr fuel tank except on Escape (Std)
-[0M1] Fuel tank
-[7E0] Without heat accumulator/auxiliary heater
-[9M9] Fuel-fired parking heater with radio remote control

I am guessing I should have got a remote for the parking heater, or is this done with the key? I have a 2017 model.

If not handed over by the dealer, reasonable to ask them to supply a replacement?

Thanks,

Paul.

There's a separate remote control for the T4's parking heater - you should have received two keys and one remote control - get back onto the dealer, without it you can't use the remote feature!

My dealer was the same scenario, last owner hadn’t handed it back etc,
About 5 phone calls and a month later it came via post.
Also will not work unless a certain level of fuel is left in the tank

Ah - the main reason I won't give up my T3 Escape for the T5 - parking heater no longer an option - although you may be able to have one retro fitted by an independant specialist. Can't believe theyve dropped it and maybe improved it to include turning the seat heaters on as well !!! The height of civilisation ;-)

Salesman said it was not a new car, it had not been handed over by the previous owners, so they would not supply one... I said that he should speak to his sales director, who agreed they would supply one :)

Poor show from the salesman, but dealership were pretty poor overall anyway.

I would still put them on Formal written notice that you will reject the car within fourteen days if the key isnt forthcoming by then.

How can they say it’s not their problem. Salesmen in general are arseholes who know nothing of the product they are paid to sell.
Any other job where you had so little clue would see you out on your ear.
Had it all with mine from main dealer, took time and effort and eventually sent one to the previous owners house to pick up he remote.
It is a fantastic option, I could never part with it now I’ve had it. To come out of a place on a freezing winters night with an icy wind and get into a warm car that’s been there 4 hours is a major joy, especially in Scotland.
